  • It's decorative gourd season, Mother*******

    http://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/i...-motherfuckers

I believe this has been shared here before, but it pretty much captures my feelings of late.

And I cant get into the damn attic because my parents borrowed my ladder and broke it and I need to go buy a new one on their dime! So my fall decorations lay (lie?) in wait

Summer is usually my favorite season, but I am really looking forward to fall this year. I'm loving fall more as the kids get older, I think because of the traditions that come along with it. We usually visit an orchard, make some yummy apple treats, DS is super excited about Halloween, and I've always loved Thanksgiving. The last few years it's just been us for Thanksgiving but this year we are close enough and DH has vacation time so we are planning a trip home, yay.

If you are in the market for a new ladder we got the Little Giant from Costco and I love that thing.

DH doesn't get the decorating for holidays. I want to go apeshit crazy in Home Goods and buy everything now that we're settled. They have sooo much fall stuff out.

I think it was 200. They sometimes have it on sale.

I'm ready to decorate for fall, but the weather is not cooperating. As soon as it starts to cool down, my decorations are going up.

Fall is my most favorite time of year. But I must admit, I'm not looking forward to what comes next. Last year was brutal.
I get pumpkins, gourds and mums for the front of our house.

Yeah, Syl. I'm kind of scared. I need to buy thermal shades for my back door so I'm not hanging blankets again this winter.

After a particularly mild summer and a very easily start to fall? I'm nervous too.

Cliff Mass disagrees with the Farmer. In the Northwest we're expecting a warm, dry winter thanks to an El Niño effect in the Pacific. I'm sorry to say that the same effect is going to leave the South and East -- and TN -- colder than average. (Average for us means highs in the high 40s and lows in the high 30s.) http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/

I need me some decorative gourds. Also corn stalks. And I like decorating with edible gourds. Have your pie pumpkin and eat it too!
