  • What is your animal alter ego?

OK, what is your animal alter ego? (For those of us Harry Potter-heads, what is your patronus? #nerdalert)

This took me *forever* to come up with an answer that was just right, as in years. Yes, this *burning* question has taken up residence in my mind for awhile. Glad to know I'm using my intellectual faculties for that higher purpose. Anyway, I finally figured it out.

I'm a Collie. Hardworking, Loyal, running, getting-everyone-where-they-need-to-go sort of creature. I'm not super dramatic but I get the job done.

So what is your animal alter ego and why?
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

Easiest question ever. I'm a cat. Picky and hard to impress, I stick closely to a few good people and don't care much for strangers. I don't care about making anyone like me but do always like to be clean and put together for my own satisfaction. I can lounge like nobody's business. I'm even super flexible.

      I love the Patronus reference.
Not sure what it would be now (maybe it has changed?), but I was always tickled by my good friend's response to this question.

"A purple stingray." And, she was absolutely serious.

Good question, but hard! It's one of those things that is probably easier to answer about someone else (for me, which probably says something about how I see myself ). Off to think!

I once had a dream in which a cougar had great symbolism in it and ever since then I've felt that a cougar was my animal.

I think a dolphin. I'm actually very playful IRL. I probably come across as nerdy in these forums, but I love to race, laugh, turn cartwheels. I don't have the loyalty of a dog. I'd take the endless oceans.

Sitting here beside DH as he looks up his patients and I blurt out: "Hey, hun, what is my patronus?" He responds after a short pause: "Sea Otter because you love to swim and eat shellfish." He's not wrong, I might let this question sit for a bit and see what I come up with, otherwise… sea otter it is.

I would say doberman. Not the stereotype that is out there but if you have ever owned/been around one you'd know that they rarely bark, will assess the situation first (nothing gets past them) in order to decide how they are going react. Once they react, they can be 80% of the time the sweetest, most cuddly affectionate thing, 15% of the time will continue to sit back and survey the situation and 5% go all up in your business (barking) if they decide that their home/person is being threatened.

I'd say that is me. Most of the time I am outgoing, invite you into my life/home with no reservations. Then there are times where my gut just says that something is not right and I will not shy away from the situation but will be more standoffish/observer until I can figure out why I am feeling the way I am or if it is even something that I want to engage in. However, if I assess that someone I care about is being treated badly, I will go all mama bear/lion on them.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!
