The ones I can't remember or never heard of were the Oregon Trail Day and MASH.

I love Banana clips, I think I would buy one if I ever saw one.

That is so sad. The fact that I did 3/4 of this and the fact that I can totally relate to Bowling for Soup's "1985"

This is too funny! I just got a haircut today and had the girl give me bangs. I was really reluctant to have bangs again because I thought they would look like the bangs I had in the late 80s! You know...cut straight across, curled under into a roll and hairsprayed into a solid mass. It took the hairstylist a while to convince me they would not look like that!!

Trisha, that's too funny. My husband teases me that 1985 will be my song when we have kids! I'm stuck on Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, the list goes on and on!

I remember using a hair pick to get my hair to stand up straight and then using Aqua Net hair spray in it's strongest conformation.

Blech, I need a memory eraser!!! All the fashion faux pas!!!!!!! :!

OMG, this is awesome!!!! I love this thread!!!

I'm screaming "YES" to most of these and am adding a few:

How about Judy Blume? Don't forget "are you there God, it's me, Margaret!"

You remember when Madonna wore her bras outside of her clothing and still spoke with an English accent...when "like a virgin" was scandelous. HEY...I went to her Like a Virgin Tour Concert and got a t-shirt with her picture on it..when I washed it it drooped and it made her boobs stretch! I loved that t-shirt.

You remember when cabbage patch dolls were a must have. Mine was named Cornelius and he wanted to be an opera singer!

RE: McDonald's birthdays...I was the McDonald's birthday party coordinator when I was pregnant with Andrew and living in germany. :yum:

                              PS
We just bought the first season of Alf on DVD to watch all of the episodes again 8)

It's so sad...I saw a sign up and Barnes and Nobles a couple of weeks ago about 'oldies'music..."buy the clasiscs" and they were all songs from the 80's. How did we get so old???
