  • in praise of hubby

I will add to your post Kelly since I came here to post in praise of my husband. Your husband did a wonderful thing driving so far to be with you. I know that funerals can be emotionally draining and it helps to have your spouse there. I attended my grandfather's funeral alone a couple months ago and it was upsetting not to have my husband there.

Anyway, the reason I came to this forum is to say how lucky I am. My husband has been so supportive and wonderful since the birth of our daughter, Avery. I see a how new side of him, more energetic, loving and happy. Avery has brought us closer together as a family. My husband has been so helpful to me by getting up with her during the night to let me sleep despite his Q3 call schedule. Also staying with Avery so I can have some time to myself. I can't express the love that I feel for both my husband and my daughter. I am very grateful to have Ron in my life. He even brought me flowers on Sweetest's Day and helped me pick out a new outfit for a party we are attending this weekend.

I wonder if I deserve such a kind person at times.

My dh drove 13 hours on Tuesday to our hometown so that he could attend my Grandma's funeral. On Wednesday, he stood beside me while I read her eulogy and helped me get through the day. On Thursday, he drove 13 hours back to Minnesota in order to be on call Friday. After leaving the hospital Saturday morning, he picked us up at the airport. I'm feel lucky to have someone who would put themselves out like this.

      Jennifer and Kelly,

Your stories are really wonderful....you've both made my day! I can't add anything quite as moving, but this weekend my husband took me to the mall and walked around and helped me with the kids for over 2 hours while we looked for a sweater for me. We went to 1/2 of the stores in the mall and the sweater that I really, really liked was $79....that was $28 more than we had agreed to spend. After we'd looked through the mall, we walked back by the store and he ran in and bought it for me...
