Collective wisdom...

I've been thinking a lot about little pieces of wisdom that my Grandma dispensed over the years and how I appreciate these statements so much more now that I am grown. Maybe as a nod to "gratitude and inspiration" we could share these time honored sayings which carry meaning within our lives. I'll start:



"Life is messy. To fight this truth is a failure to embrace life."

1- "What goes around comes around"



2- "If it's not one thing it's two"



3- A good reply when someone asks an offensive question:

"I'll forgive you for asking, if you'll forgive me for not

answering".

"Give a man an inch and he thinks he's a ruler"



"If it's not one thing...it's your mother" (ha, my mom sent me a pillow with that embroidered on it...the dog chewed it up though so I had to throw it away!"

hmmm- My grandmother is kinda wierd (nope the apples don't fall far from that tree!) but her two favorites are:



"Say green cabbage" if you hurt yourself- I guess the theory is if you have to say something totally random, you can't be all hysterical



and the famous one "Don't pass any trucks" which to this day I do not understand. I'll ask her when I see her next month.
