Recently, I began free reading again after quitting for a few years during and after law school. Now that I have started, I can't stop. I consume entire books in a few days time. Truly, reading is an immensely pleasurable experience for me.

This made me think about all the other things that have succumb to the rigors of everyday life. For example, my hubby and I used to play cards and games frequently during our courtship. Somehow, this kind of entertainment has become replaced by the tv. I think that I will pull out a deck of cards or the chess board tonight after we put the baby down.

In sum, I'm focusing on rediscovering some of the small joys in life again.

    Kelly,

    What a great thread....

I used to read a lot before kids as well, and it seems like I never have a spare second anymore...I recently finished "nickle and dimed" though and it made me realize how much I want to read again....

    Honestly,

I struggle to remember what things hubby and I did in our freetime before residency/children...isn't that awful? I know that we took a lot of long walks in the woods and drank a lot of tea on the balcony while listening to music...but you've given me something to think about this weekend...
