  • Top 10: Candy Brands to Pass Out for Halloween

What are your recommendations? Seriously! I always end up getting candy kids don't like! Last year, I was giving out Almond Joy and none of the kids seemed to like it! I guess it was my personal preference. I appreciate any feedback you have on this subject...

    Thanks!

Almond Joy... ...not my favorite either, but Thomas loves them...

I am trying to remember what I used to love to get...

    ~snickers

    ~M+Ms

Neat topic....I'm curious to see what others recommend...

My kids love gum and suckers. Personally, I like it when they get Twix, Milky Way, Snickers etc.!!! I sneak the chocolate! M&Ms are great too.

Don't give out smarties. We did that one year and the older kids gave us disappointed looks! Though those are great for little ones. I would be happy with Almond Joy myself but I know my kids won't eat them. (More for me!!! Can we come to your house?! )

My favourites when I was a kid were Snickers, Mars, and Hershey bars. Second was Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Pops (do they still make these?). Third was bags of potato chips or cheesies.

I try to get brands of candy that I do NOT like. Last year we ran out of candy after only 30 minutes of trick or treating. I should mention that we didn't have that many trick or treaters. OOOPS!!!!!

i've never been a huge chocolate fan so i always loved the sugar fixes that people gave out: NERDS (LOVE THEM!!), lollipops, gummi worms, gumdrops, etc.

OK- th enumber one thing I liked was:

Juice- yes, juice. My neighborhood had an elderly woman who knew kids. Her house was mid-way through the neighborhood- and you know how hot and sticky kids get in costumes- She had boxes of ice cold OJ and chocolate milk (the old fashioned kind of box- no straws back then!)

So, my mom stole the idea and hands out ice cold juice boxes and has now become the infamous "juice lady". The kids all know that there is something cold to drink at my parent's house. She gives out candy, too, but the juice is always a HUGE hit. One year my dad had to run to the grocery store to buy two more cases!

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Every year I seem to get the wrong candy for the kids and end up having a surplus!

When my girls were small, after they went to sleep if we ran out of candy we just passed out what they had received !!!!!!!!!!!!! Soooo evil. They never knew the difference.
