I want some cool pharm. stuff!!! We seem to get the pens, paper, and water bottles. We did get some Nexium coasters which are nice only in the fact that we didn't have any coasters in the house! Maybe we need to get into residency to start getting the good stuff.

I am having a heck of a time hiding all the Viagra pens. My kids keep trying to take them to school!!!!

I don't know if it's because we're military or because we're peds or some combination- but we never get any good stuff. Post-it pads, pens, basic junk like that! We've only had one drug dinner, too! Luckily it was a great restaurant with fabulous margaritas.

Viagra pens in school...that is hysterical....I wonder what the teachers would think!

We didn't get as many unique items until now that we are out of training...it was usually the pens/notebooks/sticky pads...though if Thomas went to something special then we might get a coupe of coffee mugs....

When we were at UF, a drug lunch was at least once a week in his department, and I always was invited to come in even though everyone knew that I wasn't a doctor......

We went to a drug dinner once in PA that was for doctor's only...but it was at this really expensive restaurant and there were all kinds of door prizes....most of the people there were single or were doctor/doctor couples and I went with Thomas as a doc in disguise ...thinking, of course, that no one would dare ask me anything....All of the docs at the table knew me and knew I was "just" the spouse...but the people giving the talk didn't, and we had to go around the room and

ANSWER QUESTIONS about blood pressure illnesses, etc...can you say...look like an IDIOT!! Of course, I answered the questions wrong...we had a good chuckle with everyone on our way out.....but I still think about that and wince...Thomas got a cool gift out of it....(he got mine and his)..I think it was some kind of a false leather bag.....I got a shrimp dinner, drinks, dessert and a good dose of humiliation !!!

Ah......memories...light the corners of my mind......

We got a $75 gift certificate last week for Borders bookstores - and the pharm rep's "presentation" was only about 15 minutes - what a great deal!

We also have this great place in the metroplex called "Speed Zone". It has drag racing, a long "slick track" race course, lots of video games, etc. Quite a fun place to take the kids. Well, a while back we got about three cards (you use cards with pre-determined amounts in place of tokens there) worth $50 each to use there (they didn't expire for a year - so we could use them at later dates whenever we wanted)! My son and husband were in heaven!

Other than that, we don't get a lot of "gifts" per se. But, we do get to eat out at some incredibly swanky Dallas restaraunts!
