Hi. My name is Kasey and this is my first time visiting this site. I don't know if this fits me exactly....My live in boyfriend of 6 years is in his first year of med school. We are both young and I don't think either of us expected it to be this stressful. Just looking for some support!

I was the live-in girlfriend of a first-year med student when I first came here. We had a pretty terrible year that year but then it got much much better. I think the earlier you find this site the better, and you came at the perfect time. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yup- you're in the right place. Trust me when I say that everyone here started out as a girlfriend or boyfriend- not always of a medical person but somewhere along the lines- you end up attached to this medical lifestyle.

At least you KNOW he's a medical student. Several of our member married MBAs and lawyers only to have to switch gears later!

Welcome aboard- post away, when you get to 50, we have a whole private section for people attached to people in medical school.

Welcome. I'm in a very similar position. And I started dating my SO before I knew about his dreams of becoming a doc. Oops. Where are you??

We are in Nebraska. We began dating in highschool--way before any of this medicine business came into play. I just graduated from my undergrad in December. I am just starting my new job as a special education teacher and beginning grad school! What a hectic time! We also just moved in together as he was beginning med school. This year has been a time of adjustment.....Hopefully all of your wonderful advice will help me. I feel like sometimes this is as hard for me as it is for him!

That feeling MAY get stronger. :>

Welcome to the group! Oh, and it is way harder for me than it is for my husband.
