  • New to the site!

    Hi everyone -

I just love this site! I think it's such a great idea!

Let's see...a little bit about me - My husband is in his first year of his Anesthesiology residency (PGY-2)! We just got married in October and moved from Michigan to the East Coast. It's been an adventure both being newly married and married to a resident, moving to a new state and trying to find a new job! Right now, my DH has been working a ton of hours so it's been a little tough. We both thought his field wouldn't be as hard as some the others but it hasn't been the case! Guess it's good that his hospital's busy right?!

Well, I'd love to hear any words of encourgagement or some insight from those that have been through the residency years already! Also, any advice on how to be more patient and supportive is also welcome!

That's it! Looking forward to being a part of this chat forum!

    Have a great weekend!

Welcome I"m married to a MS4, and yet to experiance the dreaded residency. But, I'd say that keeping yourself busy with things that you enjoy is a good way to get balance. Taking a new class on something that interests you is a good idea, or to learn a new skill. Or you could always get a dog or have a baby, that will keep you busy Nice to "meet" you!

Welcome - I don't think residency is easy in any field but I'm told it gets better.

Nice to have you on board. Residency is full of ups and downs. This site is a great place to vent and share your success stories. It's great to have a support network you can carry with you if you move -- and a place that you can find a shoulder to cry on at 3 am if your DH is at work and your kids are sick.

Tell us a little more about yourself when you get a chance.
