  • Hello!

    Hey, all! I'm Lindsay.

I'm a newlywed as of 9.30.06! I have a B.S. in biology and am currently working in a medical research lab. Once DH graduates med school, I plan to persue a master's degree and become a physician assistant. One of my big goals in the meanwhile is figuring out how to balance DH's career, my career, and our family life! We don't have any children yet and still aren't sure when the right time to begin trying is...

DH is just finishing up his third year clinicals and is planning on going into pathology. He is also on scholarship through the USAF HPSP. I'm still not exactly sure how I feel about his being in the military, but it does seem to complicate things! Regardless, he is happy with the decision he made to go in, so I support his choice.

Anyway, that's me! I just wanted to say hi!

    PS
I tried to get into the "Pediatrics" forum for med students' spouses, but I don't have access to it yet. How can I gain access? Thanks in advance!

                  Howdy-

                  Welcome aboard.

You should have access to the military spouses section- we try to make sure people are really interested in the site and it's members before getting into the private posting (aka the peds section) areas. So hang in there and get to know everyone through the various forums.

We have lots of AF spouses- in fact, I think we have only AF spouses and me the lone Army spouse. We have had a few Navy spouses but they've since moved on, or maybe are lurking!

In any case, congrats on your newlywed status and we're glad to have you.

                  Jenn

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you as well!

With all of my questions about military medicine, I'm sure those of you in the military forum will be getting to know me particularly well...! (Oh, and ditto for the other students' spouses, once I get my 50 posts, of course!)

I also want to add that I am so happy I found this site! Most of my friends are non-medical/non-military and can't relate to some of the issues I deal with being married to a med student in the military. It'll be nice to hear from others who can relate!
