        Hi! Welcome! Glad you're here!

        I'm a WOHM in STL, MO, with a JD and a 3-YO DS and a 34-YO NSG PGY3 DH.

        (I was just trying to see how many abbreviations I could fit into my bio!)

        Post often... Especially if you're a Republican. Tara and I and several others really need the allegiance!

            Oh man, you're good! What does "JD" and "NSG PGY3" stand for?!

            I am not a Republican, not a Democrat either. I am just flaky, lol!

              Yes, my DH did a ped residency then a fellowship in peds emergency medicine.

              He says if he gets burned out on peds emergency mediciane he can fall back on being a ped. (Though he finds it terribly boring.) He could also do adult emergency medicine though he finds it very depressing.

              Do I wish he did something else? Well, if he were a regular ped his hours wouldn't be so wonky. However, I know ped emergency medicine is what he is supposed to be doing with his life right now. He loves his job, he is an awesome doctor (I believe mostly because he cares about people/kids) and he'd be unhappy doing anything else. (Remind me that I typed that when he's been working 70 hour work for weeks straight!)

              He also is an associate professor at a medical school and is a hospital administrator so that eats up family time too.

              Hope I answered your questions!

                Welcome aboard! My husband did his fellowship training in Cleveland. His second choice after neonatology would have been Peds EM. Hope to learn more about you!

                  JD=juris doctorate (law degree). Since I volunteered that I WOTH, I thought I'd throw in what I do.

                  NSG=neurosurgery

                  PGY3=a third-year resident

                  Again, WELCOME!!

                    WOW, your DH is really busy! That is a lot of responcibilities! Oh and PGY techiquely means - post graduate year - so it includes those in fellowship too - so you might see someone say, PGY8 or PGY9 (poor things

                          I am married to a pediatric emergency medicine physician. We have 5 kids, their ages: 14, 6,5,2 and a 5 month old.

                          We currently homeschool our 6 year old and hope to homeschool the rest as well! (My teen is in a Montessori school.)

                          I look forward to meeting women who know exactly where I am coming from when I say, "My husband is never home".

                          I never come to this part of the website. I am now smacking myself upside the head!

                          Good grief, woman! You know what my life is like in many, many ways. I have six kids: 11, 8, 8, 5, 2, and 11 weeks. I homeschool all of them (well, the oldest four for right now ). And, my husband is also doing some very similar things to yours (as far as the teaching institution thing goes ). Anyway I'm sorry I didn't say hello to you sooner!

                          Welcome (and, I'm not technically a registered Republican but I lean that way - so Abigail and Tara are happy about that I hope )!
