Anyone from Pittsburgh??

Hello,

My name is Nancy and I just moved to Pittsburgh with my husband for his residency. I am a 27 year old married mother of a 3 month old baby girl. It seems to be very hard to meet people since I am at home a lot. Is anyone else on here from Pittsburgh?

We have a few from the 'burgh- one just left there. I lived there until 2nd grade- my dad grew up there and my grandmother is still there.

I am from Roanoke, Va. I love IKEA, it is great. I went there Monday, most decorations in our apartment are from IKEA.

I know those transitions can be really hard ecspecially when your husband works so much. When did you move to CA??

Welcome! I'm not from the Burgh either, however, DH's family is - and we hope (really really really hope) to be moving there for residency. What program is your husband in?

I spent most of my childhood in Pittsburgh: from age 7 to 16. My folks are still there. Go at least once a year.

I can probably be of help in terms of recommendations on stuff--even if I don't know personally, I can ask my mom, who is a pharmeceutical sales rep--she has spent the past twenty years driving the city and knows it very well.

He is at Western Penn, he did his internship year in Roanoke. I hope your husband matches in Pittsburgh.

Thanks recommendations are always good, I am not very familiar with alot of things the city has to offer yet. I really want to go to the zoo soon though, I hear it is a nice zoo.

I'll ask my mom about cool stuff to do around the city...I mean, I have memories from my childhood, but I haven't lived there since 1990. I'll circle back with you!

I do know that the zoo has a brand new baby elephant!
