Hi, everybody--I'm new to the MSGH, and so glad I found it! I'm married to a 1st year Cardiology fellow--we've been married almost 8 years, no kids yet. I'm convinced that we have survived our relationship through humor. It seems to save us each time the going really gets tough, which we all know can be often. Looking forward to hanging out here! Happy Thanksgiving!

Marla,
Welcome to the group...and Happy Thanksgiving. How long will your husband's Cardiology Fellowship be? My dh did a two year ID fellowship and finished a little over a year ago....how the time flies!
Laughter is definately the best medicine....we have put together a photo album from residency with a lot of funny text, pictures, stories etc....that has put a whole different spin on the experience.
Anyway..welcome aboard....

Thanks for the welcome
Hi again, and thanks for the welcome! Patrick's fellowship lasts at least three years, probably more like four--he is also pursuing a PhD in Physiology (somebody has to be the gunner in the family! ) We are in Richmond, which has been a really interesting experience, considering we most recently came from Chicago. I'm actually originally from KS and went to college X2in MO.....blah blah blah..you know the globetrotting story!!! Anyhow, this is our first exposure to "the South". I'm looking forward to chatting in here! Thanks again for the warm welcome.
Jill--are you staying in DC for fellowship?

Marla-
A fellows wife who has endured a residency...wow...you get some sort of purple heart survivor medal. I'm still bumbling through the lower years of residency.
I agree with you, life is going to throw you whatever it will... we might as well laugh and enjoy the ride.
Nice to meet you.
