Hi Everyone,
I posted a few years back when my then-boyfriend was starting residency in MN and I was finishing grad school in NY. It was a scary time with lots of unknowns and I didn't see how I could survive his lifestyle. Now I live in Minneapolis with him and he's in his 3rd year of a general surgery program AND we're getting married in 3 weeks! If I got over the anxiety of his first year in surgery, managing a long-distance relationship and my own ambiguous career status, anyone can. Just thought I'd post this for those of you going through hell right now. It gets better if you can muscle through!
Now, that said, he's still a surgery resident, which isn't exactly easy, and I'm still trying to make a living as a freelance radio journalist, and now that we're finally getting married and settling into this lifestyle together, I will be looking for support and resources and I'm so glad to have this list!
