  • Wife of 3rd Year Medical Student -~ TN

Hello! I thought I would introduce myself and say hello to those of you who are supporting your spouse during the medical school years...and maybe ask some questions of those who are supporting their spousal resident or physician!

My name is Sara and my husband is a 3rd year medical student in Johnson City, TN

We have not had many difficulties being married and working through the medical school program, I work full time and am working on my MBA also. It keeps me busy

Hope to get to know some of you!

The snow is piling up here! All weekend it was on and off. Last night into this morning there was a nice new layer of snow and it looks so pretty!! I suppose you don't get tons of snow in TN!

You should definitely come visit NY! It's such a fun place to be! I just moved here about five months ago (I'm right outside the city) and I'm loving it!!

          Hello & welcome!

          Glad you found us.

My BF is a 4th year med student about to match in a little over 3 weeks. So we're getting both excited and anxious.

I have to commend you on working FT, getting your MBA, and supporting your husband thru med school. That's awesome :!: I'm in the same boat in terms of working FT & going to B-school FT, but I'm not supporting my BF financially (altho, being in an LDR and the only one working, I do definitely foot most of the expenses in flying to and from the East Coast, as well as other sundry expenses.)

How far along are you in your MBA curricula? What are you specializing in? I'm hoping to graduate by this Aug, with specializations in Finance & Marketing. I'm crossing my fingers that Jay will match in a city with a great capital markets infrastructure.

Anyway, hope to get to know you better.

          Dures

            Sara--

Welcome to the boards. I'm happy to hear that med school is going o.k. for you. But more importantly, how goes the MBA process?

I look forward to meeting you below.

              Hi Sara,
My husband is in his 3rd year as well and what an exciting year it is! He has decided to apply for an otolarygology program, which brings about many uncertainties for the future. We are both so excited as he gets closer to finishing medical school and also as every year gets closer to beginning his career.
I currently work full time at an advertising agency and I love it! I also wanted to go on to grad school, but since we will be moving in a year that would not work so well! But, instead of grad school now I am looking forward to the career of motherhood in the next couple of years! What is your husband going into?
How has your experience been so far with your husband in his 3rd year? My husband is in family practice right now so we are really taking advantage of the free time that we have to spend with eachother! We take full advantage of it because we know that we will not have that time in the years to come, but it will be worth it!
I hope things are going well for you too and I look forward to hearing about you as well! Laura
