  • Hello from Houston Med Center!

    Hi everyone!

What a relief to find this site! I'm married to a 2nd year med student and am feeling about a hundred different emotions, including lonely and overwhelmed....and I'm not the one who has to study and learn all the info!

It's definately harder than I thought it would be to make friends after graduating college. It's weird: I'm not shy and have always made friends easily. I depend on my hubby a lot for companionship, but I guess I didn't realize it until he started studying for this darned Step 1 test.

So I am happy to have found this site and meet all of you know know just how I feel!

        Welcome!!

I hated when my husband was studying for Step 1, we couldn't spend quality time together for months because he was so stressed about doing good on it. It will get better after he is done, I remember it being such a relief. Just hang in there.

Hello! Welcome. "We" start studying for Step 1 as soon as the last test ends in the beginning of March. I say "we" because I have some visibility into how he is at test time. Impatient, messy, and just plain riled up about everything. So it's kind of a joint process keeping everything moving while his world stops for the test.

You'll find lots of great advice here and people who know what you're going through as well!

                      Hi!
Not currently from Houston but spent almost 6 yrs there. The good news is that you are in Houston - one of the few testing sites.

It has been a while but I still remember times at the Gingerman's (in Rivce Village) after exams.

Post often - can't wait to get to know you.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

DH recently did the gut wrenching Step 1 so I feel your pain. It was the roughest part thus far for us. Stick around here and you'll find you're in good company.
