  • Hi

    Hi,
My name is Shannon. I'm married to Mike who has just been accepted to med school and he starts in June. We are pretty non-traditional in that he's on the older side (mid-thirties) and have a four year old and 17 month old and we are just starting this journey. Hoping that time will lead me to good insight and advice on this site. We are freaking out but are excited that he's got this amazing opportunity. I'm working full-time as a mental health therapist. We live in Michigan in the Detroit area. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

      Welcome Shannon,

You will find people just starting out here, people who are nontraditional students here, parents, therapists, people in mental health services, people needing mental health services....Oh wait, that last one is me.

Anyway, you came to the right place.

      Welcome.

        Glad you found us!

My husband started med school 1.5 years ago, also in his mid-30s. You're not alone! Will you be staying there in Detroit for school, or are you having to move?

Welcome! My dh also started med school in his 30's and we had our fourth baby during MS1. You're in good company here, especially when your enthusiasm for the process fades...
