Hey there! Sorry your having a rough go at it these days;I can so relate. We will be 5 yrs post training this month. So many, including myself, know what it's like to live away from support and not really get much from our spouses.
Your line about being on call 24/7 since your r oldest was born, isone I have used on DH!
Please stick around and post often. Seriously, these men and women really have helped to save my sanity. The other added benefit is that I have made some super friends!

Wow, thanks everybody for this incredibly long list of welcomes! Never ever have I really known anybody who "gets it" and it's awesome to suddenly see there are some folks out there who do! You all certainly helped me out of my sleep-deprived-coming-off-of-his-night-shift-week blues (which yes, was followed by his I'm-at-the-ASA-for-5-days trip, where he still is, !)...
                              Thank you.

I'm also feeling more relieved again because for the first time I now have all 3 girls in school/preschool, giving me a grand total of 4 hours on 3 days a week where I can either get something done that requires concentration... or I can nap if I need to, which lately I'm waaay more inclined to do! And after living in Portland for 5 years, my folks have decided to escape the MN winter for a few months and rent a place out here Nov-Jan... meaning IF we can get our act together to actually coordinate DH's schedule enough we could go out to eat or go dancing or check out some of the places in this fabulous town that all our nonmedical friends like to rave about. (Kids are 8, almost 4, and just turned 2- we hardly ever go out, and every time I find a good babysitter she's moved off to college or somewhere by the time I'd need her again.)

So anyway, I'll start lurking around here and posting more once I figure it all out, but I'm so glad to have found you all.

                              ! Jenn

(Oh, and can somebody explain the abbreviations for all the MDs- I don't know what my DH would even be??)

                                Definitely post more Jenn!
That was the best part about arriving on the scene here - people just understood where you were coming from. Such a relief.

It's nice to "meet" you and I hope you will stick around!
