  • Hello, I'm new here!

Hello, I'm a husband of a psychiatrist and have three kids, a dog, a rabbit, and a lot of stress. I found this place in hopes that I might find some conversation with someone who's in the same situation. My wife has been in practice now for 13 years. I was a Stay-Home-Dad for 7 years, until my wife started a private practice early 1999 (I truely cherish that time in my life). Now I'm her Business Manager working in between bringing the kids to school and picking them up. (My real job starts after school, you see, I also drive a shuttle bus, going to dance class, excersize class, scouts, etc.)
I'm just starting to navigate through this site. It seems like a great place to vent and have intelligent conversation on the internet.

    Welcome,
Glad you found us. My husband is a Pulmonologist in private practice. I am a nurse and we each have two teenagers!!! This is truly a great place to vent and communicate with others who live this crazy lifestyle.

      Hola

Very glad to have you here.
I too am a stay at home dad. My wife is a neuro resident. In 4th year med school she was torn between psych and neuro (I was praying for psych - easier residency!), but all her mentors talked her into neuro (doh!)

Anyway, check out Mr. MD for some empathy.

        psychspouse,

Welcome to our humble abode. We certainly will appreciate the perspective of someone who has been in multiple phases of the medical marriage. I have only experienced medical school and an unending surgical residency, so it is hard for me to even think about the next stage.

        Anyway, welcome aboard.

              Welcome, Psychspouse,

This web site is total therapy for me. My dh is in his final year of residency and he is the Medical Director of a family health center in East Texas starting this summer.

                Welcome psychspouse,

We have a growing contingency of male spouses and a sizeable amount of attending spouses. Hopefully you will find a compassionate group here who is going through the same things as your family.

                Welcome aboard.
