    Hello everyone,
My name is Crystal and I am hoping to be able to get some advice. I am pursuing a PhD in human genetics. I am working on the genetics that underlie diseases such as Autism and Dementia. I am currently in a relationship/living with a PGY-1 Neurologist.

It is good to know that a site like this exists.

So glad you're here, and looking forward to getting to know you!

How long have you and your SO been together? Is residency going okay? I imagine you're really busy, too, so that probably helps with the transition.

        Hi! Welcome to the group!!

I got my PhD when DH was in med school. Don't know about you, but I found it easier to be in school while he was too because we both had to study - did not have much free time, etc. I guess misery does love company. Glad you found us.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Welcome! I am currently getting my MBA and MPH and have found it easier to stomach the studying when I am right there with my DH! I loved genetics! Your program sounds really neat. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Yay- another neurology spouse- we are few and far between. (like of the 800+ members that we average, you're the third neurology spouse!)

The genetic aspect of syndromes and diseases is fascinating.

              Welcome and post often!

So I am in the first year of my PhD. I just joined the lab less than a month ago. I'm being told that this feeling of euphoria regarding my research will subside around the 3rd year, but I'm totally in love with what i'm doing. In fact, i'm taking a break from reading more papers.

My SO and I have been together for a little over a year now. While moving in was a little fast--i'm so glad I did it, otherwise I wouldn't see him for weeks on end.

Being in a PhD program definately has its benefits as far as staying busy. I no longer get upset when he comes home and has to study because i'm already doing it! Our most used furniture is our dinning room table/huge desk.

@Jenn--i had no idea there were so few neurologists!

thanks so much for welcoming me.
