  • Greetings!!

I'm another newbie to the site and am glad I found it!! My hubby is an Anesthesiology intern and I work full-time as an Academic Advisor (ironically with many pre-med students!). We have two kids, a 5 year old son and a 19 month old daughter.

I also wanted to share that my hubby is a DO in a MD residency. I think this sometimes provides its own issues, but we are truly loving our journey thus far, both the good times and hard times! For others who may be DO spouses or significant others, I was recently appointed as the first-ever Intern/Resident Liaison for the Advocates to the American Osteopathic Association (AAOA). It's been a fun task beginning to get the word out and get support from the national organization, but it definitely keeps me busy on top of everything else!! I am so thankful for those easier months when my hubby is actually home and thankfully, this is one of those months!! It's amazing how my stress level decreases when he is actually home, both physically and mentally!!

I look forward to chatting with you all here!! Nothing beats a community of those who actually "get" what I am going through!!

                Hi!!

Your position with the AAOA sounds really interesting!

I also worked in student affairs, and counseled a few pre-med students. Not in any "official" capacity, just giving them advice and support when they needed it the most.

Same here, but the only weirdness is that he'll need to send paperwork into the AOA to get his residency approved. Even though it's an MD program, it's very DO friendly. They have a monthly OMM clinic, and one of their sports medicine attendings is an MD who is certified in OMT. In all, it's pretty cool.
