  • Hi!

    Hi there,

I have checked out the forums here on and off over the years and I have often found words of wisdom and great advice. Now I am hoping to become more active.

I am a pastry chef currently staying at home to take care of our brand new baby girl who was born in January.

After not matching Ortho last year my husband is finishing up a general surgery intern year. He re-applied for Ortho and General Surgery and he has matched! Anxiously awaiting Thursday to find out where we will be spending the next 5 years!

I am so relieved that he matched; especially after helping him through the scramble etc. I am also beginning to more fully realize my husband is going to be a surgeon of some kind and starting to think about what that means for our family.

I think that we do a pretty good job of making our limited time together as fulfilling, productive etc as possible, but the birth of our daughter has added a new dimension. I am grateful that there is this place where I can write about and read about the trials of being a parent during residency.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

    Thanks

    smama
