  • New here!

Hi! My name is Kelli and my husband Tony is currently a MS2 at Indiana Univ. We have a 15 month old son, Rowan and 2 dogs. I stay at home. I am originally from IN and my husband is from MI.

Sadly, IU does not have any sort of groups for married couples or families. I tried to start a families group myself last fall and while there is a FB group, I tried to plan an event but there wasn't much interest. I am going to try again this spring. It is hard because many other students in my husband's class are still living the single college life. While I do have other mom friends, I wish we had more "couple friends" from med school who were in the same situation. So I'm really glad I found this site as a way to meet other wives.

Can't wait to get to know you all!

Hi and welcome! Are you at the main campus? We have a couple spouses who are in the Indy area - hopefully they'll chime in! Post often!

Yes, we are in Indy. There was a couples group that was around when my husband first started med school in the fall of 2009. We went to a cook out and they had a sheet of other events and contact info. I signed up for the email list, and never got any other emails. I even emailed a few people to ask what happened to the group and no response. So I'm not sure if it just died down or what? But I would LOVE to meet other spouses or couples. My husband doesn't really interact with others in his class, though I sometimes wish he would so we could make more friends!

Welcome! We found in med school most people lived the single college life & had no kids. Dh & I started a couples group but it didn't get much traction.

I noticed that most of the forums were locked. Guess I'll just find random posts to respond to so I can meet the requirements!

Which, speaking of random... the hyperlink to your blog is incorrect. If you click on it, it takes you to some ticker website, just FYI .

Thank you! Holy crap--it even shows my weight history. Grrr.....

Okay--before anyone jumps on you for this (because yours truly made this mistake 1.5 years ago and caused enough waves with my overenthusiastic newbie posts that Kris had to put up a "reminder be nice to each other" sticky") there is a 100 post requirement so that you can ease in slowly and we can get to know you/make sure you aren't an insane crazyperson, etc. So the idea isn't to rapidly built up a post count with meaningless posts, but to really join in the discussion. The private forums can be very...private (to state the obvious)

See here for how NOT to reach 50/100 posts: :P
