  • Just joined here and I am brand new be gentle.

Hello, All I am new to this site. I am a male self employed and my wife started medical school last August. She is in the second part of the year and living in two different states.

We are trying to adjust to the rigors of medical school and maintaining a marriage. We have two kids once is in college and the other is a teenager. She started medical school late. I am thankful to find this site and hope to talk to others to vent, get advice, and have fun. Thanks!!

    Welcome! You'll like it here!

Wow, that's interesting that she's going back now. Has she always wanted to be a doctor? Good luck with the transition. You are lucky to have found this site early - there's a lot of great information here, and plenty of people who can relate to the unique frustrations of being a medical spouse.

Welcome! I know we have at least one other member whose spouse started med school in another state when their children were grown. Best of luck with the adjustment; come here to vent!

            Hey!

ETA: I am laughing at your title and assuming you have read some of our brutally honest threads. Brutally honest but supportive as hell, you've come to the right place.

We had older kids in med school (compared to DH's classmates) so we were kind of the geezers of his school. You'll find that this group has people from all walks of life and all stages of education and training. We have a fabulous wealth of knowledge, experience, sympathy, and the occasional reality checks.

Welcome to the crapfest of the medical life.
