Hello,
For a while I have been looking for some type of place where I can come and find support for my relationship. I am happy that I somehow managed to find this website while I was browsing an Army Wive's blog. So far from what I have read this forum looks like a place filled with loving and caring people fighting the same battle sorta speak...
A little about me I am a 25 year old undergraduate engaged to a first year medical student in Brisbane, Australia (far away...I know..I know). I live in Long Island, New York. Prior to Joe leaving for Aus, we dated for about 7 months and I guess when I found out he was leaving in my opinion it was too late to let go and he felt the same way. We both agreed to try Long Distance and try to work it out and if it worked then we would continue and if it didn't then we would go our separte ways... So far we have gotten through the first semester of medical school... I'd like to think successfully with it's share of ups and downs. Even though my long distance relationship is challenging I would never change it for anything else.. The distance can get to both of us but so far we have managed to still keep our love and affection alive throughout the madness that is Med School. Joe was back for 10 days in March and I just recently came back from 3 weeks down under..
I hope that I can find advice and support here.. Even though I have a loving family many times they don't understand the level of commitment and love Joe and I have so, I find it hard to explain what I am feeling and be given unbiased or negative advice. I hope you all can help out or just listen when I need it
Thank You,
-Marcia
