  • Trying to get used..

    Hello you all,

We just moved from Athens, Greece with my husband to Seattle. He is a first year resident in general surgery. I hardly see him and when I see him he hardly has the strength to speak to me..

We have no kids yet and I have not yet a job since I am waiting for my work authorization documents. I was an attorney in Greece but here I look for anything that will keep me busy. Meanwhile I miss terribly my previous life in Athens since here I am spending all my time alone having no friends and family around..

Any ideas from someone with a similar experience..??

I am so happy for having found this group. Sth tells me that it will be a great support me.

    Chri.

Welcome! Some residency groups have spouse activities to help you meet others. If you are religious, church is a great way to meet couples your age. I hope you like this board - it's helped me so much! Looking forward to getting to know you!

Welcome! I love Seattle though I imagine that the adjustment isn't easy. Explore the city & all it has to offer.

Welcome! There are many surgery survivors on here. What you're experiencing is nothing new, I'm afraid. Post often, this is truly a lovely group of people. (I've been here almost 9 years now!)
