What specialty is your husband in?

Intern year is a rough transition. Hopefully you and your husband just need some time to adjust. The whole year is hard, but the first few months can be the worst.

            Thanks everyone for the love.

He is in general peds, so I know it could be worse. He has several inpatient months in a row right here at the beginning, though, so things have just been kind of... intense.

Thanks again; I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Another peds wife here. Inpatient months can be tough, especially during the winter, when everyone has RSV/flu/URI/etc. I hope that by getting those rotations out of the way at the beginning that the rest of the year goes a little more smoothly!

And just like it was with med school, they will have certain rotations that they love and others that they loathe. He doesn't have to love ALL of peds. My DH loves time on the inpatient floors, which mirrors his interest in being a hospitalist, but he could do without time in the PICU. On the other hand, oceanchild's DH loves his time in the PICU and is applying for fellowship in it. He will find his groove and you will too! Hang in there!!
