I think our three stooges were 8, 4, and 2 when the dude started med school. We weren't the oldest peeps in his school, but not far off. And we absolutely ARE the oldest in his residency, though.

Welcome! We are non-trads as well. Had baby #4 during MSI and #5 during chief year. DH will be 43 when he is done with fellowship. You've come to the right place, we totally "get it" . Post often!

We're somewhat non trad. DH never had a career before medicine but he did an MD and a PhD and we had kids earlier than most. He's a 33 y/o intern.

              Stick around and post often!

DH started his MD/PhD when he was 25 and finished at 34. We had 3 kids during med school! DH will be 39 when he starts his faculty position. Then we plan to have one more kid.

Welcome! Also non-traditional in that DH taught for two years before med. school, so he was 24 when he started. He was also one of the very very few students married with a kid. I always felt so much older than DH's classmates.

I know compared to some of you all we really aren't that non-traditional! But I swear virtually everyone in DH's class was 21 -22 and fresh out of undergrad! No one came in with kids, though a few of us were pregnant. And he had a very large class!

Welcome! We're not non-traditional, but i love hearing all the different stories! I'm actually older than he is, and have had a career since before he was even in med school, so it's sometimes interesting seeing the "kids" react to being in the real world. He was also going to be untraditional in a different sense, as he was let into med school as a high schooler and was supposed to fastrack through undergrad, but he prolonged his undergrad career so that he would be the same age as his classmates.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Welcome! So nice to see that there are lots more of you who's DH started late! He was amongst the oldest in his med school class (having worked first) and is 30 in the first year of residency. Daunting to think how old we will be when he is through!
