Welcome! Get ready for more of this because this is just the beginning. Try finding out halfway through March where you'll be in July.

Thanks for the welcome! My bf just got an interview at Texas A&M med school, which was his original choice. Now if he gets in he'll have to reevaluate his whole decision! This whole process is so nerve racking and I am so ready for it to be done and we know where we will be!
Yikes...I remember that. Trying to balance acceptances with potential jobs/job offers was a stressful PITA. It all worked out, though!

Try finding out the first week in August that you got off of the wait list at your first choice med school. Good luck to all med applicants and residency applicants this year. 13 and 8 years ago seems like forever ago!

I'm hijacking here, but... I knew people who started medical school in the Caribbean and THEN found out they got accepted to a North American school. PITA, but a problem I would've liked to have.

and nice to meet you! While I hated law school and the distance (7 hours) while he was in medical school, it was great for our relationship in that we both understood the importance of studying and the pressure of balancing that and quality time.

Welcome! I'm class of '97. I hear College Station has exploded and I probably wouldn't even recognize it anymore. Good luck with your selection process!

College Station has indeed exploded. It's still growing. They are adding a third hospital (Scott and White) which for such a small area is a lot. Traffic is awful haha.

Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones and not move around that much during the process. We have another TX member on here that moved very little during the process. Good luck! Keep us posted. Once you get more posts and he's been accepted you'll be admitted into the "Peds" area for med school spouses!

I haven't moved at all. We bought our house as soon as DH was accepted and stayed for residency and fellowship. Faculty position starts at the same place in July. I live 3 miles from my Mommie.

Not having to pack and move all of our shit would be awesome. Living within a few miles of my family would not.

Welcome! I'm also the JD half of a JD/MD couple (and also new here). Best of luck with all of the decisions! I know exactly how you feel about just wanting to know where you are going! Sadly all the moving for medical training doesn't mesh that well the legal field!
