  • I'm back

    Hi Ladies

I came by a few months ago and introduced myself, but left for a while, and now am back.
He's done his writted Anesthesia boards (Royal College) and does his oral exams in Ottawa in 10 days.

He's been accepted to Anesthesia Simulation as fellowship here at home (no move, sorta bummed about that) - though had initially planned on doing Critical Care, and is still considering doing that fellowship too. I cannot wait until this program is done.

Things have been stressful for us - with his exams, ATLS, studying, our 3 kids at home and my eldest - who is disabled, has been quite sick and was hospitalized for a period of time and we didn't expect he would survive, but is now doing better, and has returned to his care-home.

Kids are pretty good, life is pretty good - DH and I took a winter trip to Cuba for a week (which sucked, I'll never go back to Cuba again) and we're heading to Quebec City in a few weeks for CAS (Canadian Anesthesia) Conference for a week.

Summer is here, on and off. Looking forward to exams being OVER and that we can get on with life and start planning our future home, getting the kids into school and activities and actually start living as a family, somewhat.

    xo

Is anesthesia sim what I think it is? As in working with the human patient simulators? If so, a dear friend and former sim colleague is now living in Quebec.

Glad to have you back and to learn things are going well.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

i think the thing that helped me was finding a couple people that I 'clicked' with on here. Also, after you are on a while you get into other areas where the support is wide and deep! Again, glad you are back.

Yes, one of the best ways to get us started talking is to start a new post. We all have opinions and love to share them!
