Hi! My husband finishes his fellowship in functional neurosurgery on 6/30, and begins as an attending on 7/1.

What kind of NSG does your hubbie want to practice? Skull base, functional, vascular, spine, pediatrics...? Private or academics?

Thank you! So far he is planning on private practice with a bit of everything...I think he might focus on spine but he keeps changing his mind so we'll see...I am glad to hear that there is an end to this craziness.

Go PP spine. Very nice lifestyle and big $$.

Stay away from academic functional with a 50/50 clinical/lab split!

Welcome to the group. You'll find so much support from surgical spouses on here. And the rest of us are too shabby either. I also have a only child that is two. Fun age!
