I have started to mark the medical seasons (match, new year, etc.) by the waves of new comers. Every time a handful appear I think, oh its that time of year again! Lol

I do this, too. Especially around match time.

For new resident spouses, it's match time. For new student spouses, it's the summer.

I ironically joined around match time but we didn't have anything to do with it. I guess I was just picking up on the universal flow of the medical world in the US.

I'm new. Not sure how I found this website, but glad "the internets" read my mind. Here it is: my spouse is a 2nd year EM resident. We moved to a town so crappy criminals and the mediocre move here to retire. My spouse is wonderful, but sometimes I wish she'd stay a teacher. We have no family or friends in the area. I'm a stay-at-home-parent and have become fully fluent in my preschoolers' toodler talk because I have no one over the age of 3 to talk with. My spouse has gained respect, I feel like I'm completely invisible, except to my daughter - which is great (she's a wonderful munchable). I'm a writer without time to write. I take care of everything. My spouse works/sleeps and spends time with our daughter when she has the time. I'm venting. I'm done. Well...

Welcome! And big hugs from another SAH parent. We understand around here. Some days, this is my only place to have an adult conversation, too!

My SO is an EM resident also although no marriage and kids for us. But as a stay at home writer I understand the frustration of not being able to write. Hope you decide to post more often and vent when you have to!
