  • Private Groups?

How can I be a part of a forum that is private? Most of them are?

Like the wedding planning one for example.

    Patience, Grasshopper!

Because the medical community is so interconnected, we have set restrictions on accessing more private information. Typically, that is granted after you reach 100 substantive posts. Running around posting lots of meaningless posts won't get you access to the private forums any faster. This allows us to get to know you better. Some of our younger members have run afoul of the substantive bit when they first joined.

While it may seem standoffish from the outside, we are also fiercely loyal to our own. Stick around, let us get to know you and we will let our madness hang out too!

And you can always post about your wedding planning in Grand Rounds - all types of posts welcome there.

Yep, what Kris said. But believe me, once you've been around long enough to gain access to the private forums, you'll be very glad that there's a restricted area for you to discuss certain things .

Amen Niener - there really isn't much that isn't discussed, is there.

Word. Medicine is a VERY small community. A small community that moves all over the country a LOT. You will appreciate our level of privacy in our other areas when you get access to them. Promise. Just be patient while we get to know you and you get to know us. It's not personal and EVERYONE has encountered this little hurdle. It's worth it, though. This is a great group of seriously kick-ass peeps who can always be counted on to jump in and support each other.
