Hi everyone, I'm shella. My husband told me about this site after he found the student doctor network. I haven't had much of a chance to look around yet, but I thought an introduction would be a good place to start. I am lucky enough to be a full time mom to a beautiful four month old girl and my husband is an M2, who isn't sure which specialty he wants to end up in yet. We met during our first year of college, at which time he knew he wanted to go to medical school. Three years later we graduated and got married. A year after that we had our daughter. Its been a whirlwind, but now here we are. Some days two years in seems like its about two steps from the start line, and at other times I think I may be able to see the finish. So far its been great. I'm doing what I've always wanted to do (be a mommy), and he is living out his dream as well. I guess I'll just have to wait to see if I feel the same way next year. I'm really glad he found this site for me, I'm sure I'll be posting often!

Welcome,
Congratulations on your new baby. This is a great site with a very diverse group of people here. It has been a lifesaver on some days. My name is Luanne, I am an RN and my husband is a Pulmonologist. We live in New Jersey. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Shella,
I recently joined this site as well and I commend you for starting a family while your spouse is still in med. school. Wow. Depending on what your husband goes into, you have a long haul ahead of you!
If your husband ever leans toward surgery I have seven years of thoughts on that topic but you have a while yet to make that decision.
Good luck, enjoy your baby and thanks for introducing yourself.

Hi Shella,
I am late with this welcome, (sorry!) but very happy you have decided to join us! My husband and I had our first child in April of his second year of MS, and we have always been glad that we went ahead and started our family at that point, even though the financial ramifications of that decisions have been substantial......and not in a good way! Things have a way of working themselves out though, and I look forward to your posts as you continue on this journey.....
