  • Greetings and Salutations!

Hello there, future friends and confidantes! I joined the site a few months back and now that wedding planning has calmed a bit and residency applications have been sent I thought it high time to put myself out there... here... err... yeah.

Dr.B (to be) is a MS4 who will be suffering through the match process in anesthesia this fall. We are planning to marry in May 2014 only three days before graduation because why not add more excitement to that weekend than is necessary, amiright? Right. Anyway, I look forward to making some friends here that understand what it's like being in love with a MD - cause, let's face it, this life isn't for the feint at heart!

Welcome! I admire those of you who got married in med school or between med school and residency. We got married two months before MS-1 started and boy, those were eight blissful weeks I miss dearly. This is a roller coaster I couldn't have been prepared for. MS-4 seems like lightyears away...ahh, I'm jealous.

Looking forward to getting to know you! Are you hoping to stick around the east coast for residency? Us east coasters sometimes seem like we're in the minority - so many people are in the midwest, west coast, and what seems like TONS in Texas!

Welcome! It's amazing what people can accomplish around graduation! One of DH's classmates gave birth a few days after graduation, and less than a week later she and her husband moved out of a third-floor walkup apartment in one city into another in another city (with the help of some family, iirc). It was a little nuts for them. Glad you found us, and best of luck with the match!

Well, the HOPE is to stay in Pittsburgh but he is from the west coast so choice 2 is to match somewhere close to his family. Though, I have to say that honestly I just want him to match somewhere he feels comfortable. Who am I kidding -- I just want him to match! Though I have very little doubt that he will. He has a strong application and we took A LOT of time researching programs and making sure our list had a good variety. Virginia is on the list, btw!
