  • Finally making my introduction

Hi, all. I participated in the Secret Santa gift exchange this year as an "in," and am now getting around to saying hello. I am the wife of a first year medical student. We have a 3 year old son and an 8 month old daughter and continue to debate the "best time" to add another munchkin to the mix. Any suggestions?

    Hi Lorri,
Glad to see you posting more! As far as spacing goes, our first 2 were 20 months apart, and if I'd had the energy, I would have had the next one that quickly. I thought that was a really good age difference. #3 will come along when our youngest is 2.5, so I'm interested to see the difference. My first two are playmates now, so I don't think adjusting to baby #3 will be quite as difficult (I'll be eating those words, I'm sure, in a few months!)
    Welcome!!

Funny, Kelly...when I first read that comment I though you wrote: we love newbabies. Tells you where my brain is

Welcome, Lorri. I'm glad that you introduced yourself. This is a great group of people...they are full of good advice. I'm not sure about when to add the third. We had our first three during residency and just added to the team two years post-training. Is there ever a 'bad' time to have a baby? Yes, I'm suffering from some sort of weird, hormonal post-partum delirium!

            Welcome Lorri!

I am new as well and have found this resource to be invaluable thus far.

Does your husband know what he wants to go into? I think this site might be really really helpful with the realities of training post med. school.

Welcome. You are smart to read up on what's around the corner for you!!!
