Hello, my name is Ashleigh, and I currently reside in Alabama. However, that's all about to change - my fiance (he's in New York) is a fourth year med student. I thought I'd get a head start and join you guys before the big move/leap of faith.

Welcome aboard! This a great place to come and learn about anything and everything you never knew about the medical community opposite the Doc's. We look forward to getting to know you, feel free to browse the forums and ask/vent/cheer/yell/laugh/cry here whenever you need to. I only wish I had found it sooner!

    Welcome!

Ashleigh, welcome to the boards - my DH and I spent 14 months apart so I know how you feel. This place is great, good luck!

          Welcome!

I'm engaged to a med student, as well. If it weren't for this site I'd be very much in the dark.

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad to be here - I spent a lot of today just surfing around the boards. I'm obviously not alone in some of my concerns and fears and questions, which is good, and I'm glad to have the chance to get to know people in the same situation.

Sometimes during residency it feels like a long distance rel'p when you're living in the same house....

well having lived in central nj for 14 years, I recall that it can take hours to drive 10 miles....so "long distance" takes on new meanings...
