Hello!

Just wanted to introduce myself, just moved to MI with the hubby and he is starting his 1 yr of medical school. Been hard adjusting to his new schedule (so used to spending most of my day with hi) but hopefully it gets easier! I'm excited to get to know people on this site and to help each other out in any way we can

Welcome! Tell us more about yourself, what is your profession? Will you be working during medical school? Have any kids?

I've been transplanted to the Midwest as well, just across the lake Feel free to chime in or ask / talk about anything. There's a bunch of really great people here.

So I am actually not working right now. I had been trying to look for jobs in this area to keep myself busy while my hubby started school, but that didn't work out too well. I've been mostly at home doing the cleaning and the cooking (something that I have not been used to doing as I just finished grad school myself a month ago) and trying to figure out what I can do around the area. It's been really lonely to be stuck in the apt. while he is at school, and even when he is home he's not really here, he's studying all the time as well. (ironically, feeling lonely makes me feel guilty for not being stronger in this situation).

As far as kids go, none so far. I don't think that we have the resources right now to have one.

Welcome! What did you study in grad school? I watched a LOT of Netflix on my laptop with headphones when hubby was studying in school, so we were at least in the same room, but he was able to study. This is a great place for support!

Ugh. I know how that goes. What are your degrees in, and where did you move from? We were in the southeast when he matched into internship and residency 15 hours away. I knew it would be hard to crack into my field but it was way more difficult than I ever expected. After a few months I just took a job waiting tables BC I was so sick of sitting on my hands. By January I was able to quit that job for one in my field, and after living here a full twelve months I was able to set up a nice little life for myself. Just keep trying to find work in your field and when you get discouraged take a break and try to convince yourself the only thing worse than being unemployed is having a job
