Welcome! You have definitely come to the right place. This site helped me so much during residency and the transition into attendinghood. Post often; looking forward to getting to know you!

Welcome!! I think we all have moments as medical spouses where we don't feel like we're strong enough to make it. Fortunately there are a lot of awesome people around here who are really encouraging to hang around. They've reminded me multiple times that these years are survivable (even enjoyable on occasion!)

Welcome! I'm also the spouse of a surgery PGY2 and can certainly empathize with the long, lonely hours (just me and my 2 cats...) and being far from family (both my DH's and my family are clear on the other side of the country). This is a great group and can help you through the tough times - they've already helped me immensely. Looking forward to getting to know you

Welcome! I just left Chicago after twelve years there, so let me know if you have any questions about the city. I miss it already!

personally speaking, if you feel homesick-- just go back home for a few weeks especially during some of your dh's heavier rotations. you'll get used to it--marriage to me was very similar to dating..
