Hi - I'm new here. I've looked for sites like this in the past and never found any very active ones; I'm glad I checked again.

My husband is a 6th year surgery resident and we'll be pursuing a fellowship next. We have a two-year-old son and I stay home with him.

I've been looking around at some of the articles here and am pleased to see others addressing similar issues I face in my life.

I'd love to meet up with others in my area, but cannot get access to that forum. How i do I find out if anything is going on near me? (I'm in Southern California)

Hi Debbie, I am not in southern California but I wanted to say "hi" and welcome to the site. I am an engineer, married to a soon-to-be 3rd-year urology resident at the Univ of Michigan. We are quite happy here, and are lucky to be near family and close friends. I hope to "hear" lots from you!

Welcome to the site, you will have some good commiseration, there are several other spouses connected to the surgery residency in various years.
