      Hi Stella,
Welcome! I remember that surgery rotation -- ugh is right! He did it as his first M3 rotation too. It's a big switch from the M1 and M2 years, as I am sure you are both discovering.
      Feel free to post often.

        Welcome Stella!

Yup, I remember the dreaded surgery rotation- it was the second month of dating. He was so tired that he fell asleep during a personal activity that involves two consenting adults. Talk about some moments of self-doubt!! Yet, here we are five years, four houses, three cats, and one dog later, and we have live to tell about it!

Good luck and join in often_

          Welcome Stella!

Post away and let us get to know you better. Surgery stinks for the spouse, that's all there is to it. Hang in there!

Welcome!!!! I encuorage you to read past topics and read up on what spouses/sig. others think about each speciality.... YOU deserve to be as educated on what he goes into as he does since it will effect you just as much (maybe more at times)!

This is a great resourse -- one I wish I had known about sooner!!! It also is nice sometimes for the doc to read some of the posts too!! I think it helps my DH realize that struggling in this lifestyle is universal but if both parties are comitted to working on things you CAN have a good life. If only one person is willing to work -- well that's where the trouble starts.

Tell us more about yourself when/if you feel comfortable!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

It is nice to know that I will be able to chat with people that actually understand how challenging this lifestyle is. Jenn, that was a pretty funny story and sadly I believe the same thing could happen to me but my husband has a one track mind which is focused on anything related to medicine I'm also in school finishing the last requirements for my BA in communications so I try to stay busy with my own schoolwork and being a 'single mom' to a very poorly behaved great dane If anyone has any dog training tips let me know!

                  welcome

                  Welcome to the board.

I'd love to give dog training tips but our 3.5 year old decided last week that he was a puppy again. So, obviously, i'm underqualified.

I have a BA in Communications. What do you want to do when you graduate?

Welcome! I, too, remember that "baptism by fire" rotation called surgery. We didn't have children at the time, and I was pursuing my bachelor's so I arranged to be out of the country during the majority of it. I think I was around for about a week total of it, and what I saw I didn't like. My hubby did his surgical rotation first as well.

                      Good luck.

                          Welcome, Stella!

I met my bf during his surgery rotation (his friends were amazed!). It was tough, but it got better.
