Hello! I am so glad I found this site. Although I am not married, I have been dating my bf for just about 3 years now. I met my bf in his sr year of college and now he's a 3rd year med student. We have talked about marriage, but hasn't happend yet.
How long did you date your SO before you got married? Did you meet him while he was in med school or after?

Hi, welcome to the boards! I dated my husband for about 5 years before marrying him. We met as undergraduates, so we have seen each other through the whole thing. I'm glad you found this site. It has been a godsend for me!

Hi, and welcome! My DH and I met in undergrad and dated for 6 years before we got married. We got married between 2nd- and 3rd-years of med school, and are currently in our 3rd year of a 6-year residency program. I *love* this website, and hope it helps you as much as it's helped me!

Hi and welcome, my DH and I started dating his junior year in undergrad and got married after his third year in med school - so five years. We've now been married two. Welcome to the boards!

Hello and welcome to the site!

I met my wife when she was in her first year of med school, we dated about two years, then were married.

This a wonderful place to come and "see things" in a new light. You will find lots of information about the many different points in the medical spouse road of life. There are some here who have been finished for years, others that are just starting or about to. There are many spouses/girlfriends, so feel free to post often. We look forward to getting to know you!

Thank you everyone for your replies. I wished I had found this before he started med-school so that I would know what to expect. But, it has been a great learning experience for me and I can't wait to see what else there is in store.

              Hi!

My fiance is also in his third year of med school.

We met when he was about a year and a half from finishing grad school, and was just at the very beginning stages of med school applications. We got engaged three years after we met, and will be getting married four and a half years after we met.

Hello and welcome! DH and I were high school sweethearts. We dated for 7 years before getting married at the end of med school. We have now been married for nearly 4 years and are in our 1st year post training.

                        Hello!

I met my husband during undergrad and we dated for one year prior to getting married (we dated for six months before we were engaged and then had a six month engagement - we both wish we had just cut the stress of the engagement and just eloped about a month after deciding to marry each other ). Medical school applications and interviews began around the time we got married about nine and a half years ago....

sounds like you stay busy...with another one on the way. I give you props! I am from TX as well. I moved from Boston about a year ago and now in Vermont. How do you like Boston compared to TX? Nothing compares to good ole Texas. I miss home so much!!!

You and I are in TOTAL agreement on that one! Boston and Vermont are absolutely beautiful in that Garden of Eden sort of way. But, I really miss the wide open spaces, accents, culture, everything else of Texas. It's not as picturesque as New England at all - but it's beautiful in that going-to-kick-your-butt kind of way I guess. And Braum's! The very first thing that I did after getting back here was haul my pregnant self out to Braum's to buy a burger!
