  • hi from ire

    Hi
wow there are other people like me!!my partner of seven and a half years qualified in jan, its tough and lonely, i started a new job(i never had a real job before)and hate it, im so lonely there, i spend lunch times alone walking , i want to leave it, but i think Dr will be so disappointed, and there has only been one wage for months. tonight he is on call again, we moved to a shitty village for his job, come june it will be another move, again in dec, si feel like why bother in this job, when ill have to leave it anyway, obviously they did not know this when they hired me......i wish he had become a plumber or something.......

    Olly,

Are you from Ireland? My dh was an sho in N. Ireland for 1 year.

It sounds like you are really not happy with your job. Maybe this move in June will be an opportunity for you to consider other options for yourself?

When he's on call, can you go and visit him in his call room/suite? In N. Ireland, the hospitals all had suites with a living room/kitchen etc....I used to come up with our son and sometimes make dinner and even sleep over in one of the call rooms.

    Welcome aboard. You aren't alone.

      Hi
Yes im in ireland, in the south though, thanks for being so nice!its not possible for me to call to him when he is at work, my job i will stick it out, i haven't worked for a year and neaerly went demented! i think its the uncertainty ithat upsets me, contracts here are only six months long, so it means you don.t know where you will be living, no stability, so i can;t feel settled, but at the same time i ant to be cheerful for him,m i don't want him to feel bad. ill try to look at it as an adventure!

Welcome Olly. Uncertainty is frustrating. I hope you find support with this group. I'm a newbie also and already I've found this to be a great place.
