I also entered into the world of "medicine" with long term boyfriend (3 years at the beginning of it all). Now, he is my husband and we are quite happy. It is all a bit intimidating, but everything will be fine.

Some bits of advice I have are:
    1. Personally, I would think applying to only 1 school is sort of insane. My husband who did very well on his MCATS (10, 12, 12) too, and did not make it into any school on his first try. He WAS trying to get in for MDPHD, however (he applied the second year just MD and got in). But that is just my opinion. but I don't know your situation.

    2. Your "other half" will be so super stressed and at times you may feel neglected or lonely (especially 3rd/4th year). He will be on call, and working weekends...and when he isn't working in the hospital he will be reading and reading and studying. The only advice I have, I guess is to be patient and understanding.

    3. Get used to him being late for everything. It is a fact of life, he will never be able to plan when he comes home. I work for a doc now, and he is always telling me that!

Anyhow, I am very happy for you and your other. Good luck to you both. STAY POSITIVE!!!!! It is lots of fun, and remember you are not alone
