My friend told me about this website so I thought I'd try it out. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it seems like people write to each other about their experiences being a medical spouse. My husband is a 3rd year at TTUHSC and we have a little boy who is about to turn 1. Thankfully Tech medical school has a spouses Alliance and we get together often. It's nice to have friends whose husbands are in the same situation. Well, I'm not sure what else to write, but if you have any suggestions on how I can get the most out of this website let me know.

Hi and welcome! This board is a virtual community of "friends whose husbands (spouses) are in the same situation". At any time there are loads of conversations going on, some related to the medical spouse lifestyle and some not. Just start reading, and if you have a comment about what someone's said, chime in with a reply!Alison

Am I doing something wrong
I'm trying to get familiar with the site and I'm having some problems. I'm logged in, but I can't join some groups because it says I'm not logged in. Then when I try to log in again it says incorrect username or password. I know I'm using the right info. Also, from the home page their are several links that I'm interested in viewing that don't work. For instance, residency reviews and blogs. Do these ever work or is it just a problem with the server today? Help.

Everything should work, except for password protected forums. When people are new, we have a few forums that we wait to see if they're 'real' medical spouses or spammers. We've had our share of freaks show up and try to sell us viagra or use our site to send emails to 10000 of their closest friends.
MDFamily magazine requires a subscription (6 bucks through paypal).
If you have any other problems, hopefully Kris the internet guru will be able to be more helpful.
This is a great place to come to commiserate, celebrate, complain, etc. There are people here in all parts of the medical journey, some with spouses, some with partners, some just dating. There's a forum for debates so when we want to talk politics or religion or other hot-button things, we go there. There are enough of us here so that you'll find someone in your exact same situation.
Welcome aboard!

Kris (PrincessFiona) has been working out some kinks in the software. I've had those problems too, but I seem to remember that there were some links to the residency reviews at least that did work.
Wow, that's a different front page than the last time I tried, and it's pretty FUBAR'ed. I can't find the links that worked before. I'm sure it'll be back soon! Hopefully Kris will see this and let us know what's up.
There are two boards in this forum, the Call Room and Marriage Matters, that require special access. I think there is a sticky thread in Grand Rounds that explains the "criteria".Alison

Hi Alisha,
Welcome and glad you found us. Yes, we are a great support group for medical spouses/partners. Jump in and we all look forward to getting to know you. I am Luanne, I am a nurse and am married to a Pulmonary/Critical Care attending. This site has been a blessing for me.
