What a great idea. I'm enjoying reading others re-introduction, so I'll go ahead and throw in my own.
Here's what I originally posted in 2003 . . .
I am married to a medical intern, soon to be ophthalmology resident (July). We've been married for 3 1/2 years. I am an attorney, and together we have student loans that are probably off the charts. My husband is doing his residency at the same hospital where he went to medical school. Although it was not his first choice for residency, it worked out well for me because we didn't have to move, we were able to buy our first home, and I didn't have to take the bar exam again. However, we are on the opposite end of the country from the rest of our family, which has been especially tough for me. We had hoped that my husband would match at the hospital in our home state, but it didn't work out that way. Now, we're hoping we will be able to return when he finishes residency. But, I won't believe until it actually happens.
Anyway, as I noted in my post in the Parenting forum, we do not have any children. But, we will probably start trying in July, once he's finished with his intern year. This is the very issue that brought me out of lurkdom, since thoughts on trying to have children seem to be consuming me lately. I look forward to meeting the rest of you. Thanks.
Wow . . . it's intersting to pull this out now that we're approaching the end of residency. We now have a daughter and our second child is on the way. I will be staying home full time once our second child is born. Dh is about ready to sign a contract with practice in our home state.
At the time that I posted my original introduction, I was not very hopeful and felt as if we would never return home. Things sure have changed. Now I feel that we are in the place we want to be!
