Welcome, this is a great place. Everyone here has lots of advice and we collectively have a whole lot of experience. I agree, stay away from SDN.

      Hi Stella,

Welcome to the forum! You'll love it here. I agree with the others, stay away from SDN and the likes. I used to occasionally visit nsmatch.com and could not believe my eyes when reading about how the guys there viewed relationships and commitment. :thud:

You'll do just fine while your boyfriend goes to med school. I know you're at a stage where you're contemplating the next 4 years of medical school but jump right in and deal with things as they come your way. Be aware of the negatives but don't dwell on them too much or you'll drive yourself crazy with worries.

I forgot to mention that I'm from the Baltimore area. I briefly lived in Arlington, VA, while working in DC. I miss the city but I can't say I mind the burbs too much.

P.S. I absolutely love your whippet.

        Welcome!

Stella ,, welcome to this wonderful supportive site. I found this site through SDN but only viewed the spouse site a few times; it seemed so negative so I stayed away.
I was lucky and found this site soon after beginning to date my honey. It gave me some serious understanding of what I was getting myself into. I was able to make the decision that being with him was worth it ; at least because of this site I could make a qualified decison rather that realize how hard it might be later.
My honey started med school in CA come Aug, I am ready for it to start mostly because I have been in a waiting mode for what seems like forever. It won't be easy but I think once the routine gets set; it will be easier.
This site though I think will be a Godsend for all of us; new and old. :gossip: I look forward to getting to know you and everyone else much better
