  • new Mr. MD to be

I just stumbled across this forum looking for insight into the adventure that occurs when family planning meets medical school.

I'm a second year attorney here in Chicago. My girlfriend and I met while I was in law school and she was in undergrad. She's beginning her medical school career this week, and it's been a bit nervewracking. I regret I can't go back and post a "thanks" to all the people who have unknowingly provided a supportive word, so consider this a blanket "thanks" for all the content I've read over the past week.

An especially big thanks goes out to all the contributors of the Mr. MD subforum. I hope to be a regular (although you will forgive me if I hope to be a regular out of something other than emotional necessity. )

Nice to see you. Perhaps we can resurrect the Mr.MD forums.

My wife just finished residency, and is doing a research fellowship. I'm a PhD scientist by training, and currently a dad to 2 (soon to be 3) and part time high school teacher by necessity and desire.

If you want opinions about starting a family during training, SAHDing, or would like to hear gripes and complaints, please feel free to ask.
I've got lots of opinions, and even more gripes and complaints.

I also love to talk about compost, cloth diapers, and my dislike (and unavoidable future acceptance) of SUVs and minivans.

He also has a great "keeping your inlaws at bay" program. Nice to have another guy around. We know you are out there!! I apologize in advance for any perceived (or real) man-bashing. It's really all directed at the doctor of the relationship.

                              Welcome!

Matt is our Male Admin who keeps us in line. Fluff and the rest of the guys also keep us in line. Laker and his wife are another MD/JD couple as are Kelly and her husband and a whole lot more. Must be some sort of genetic connection between lawyers and doctors.

We are always glad to have another guy on board!
