  • Medical student and the "wife"

    Hello everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 4th year medical student. I am also the mother of a 7 year old. I see my live in boyfriend go through so much as a result of my bieng in medical school, it has been really hard for me to understand what he goes through. ( It been enough to scare us from actually getting married.) My father was a doctor and I remember our family life, and vowed to not repeat the same mistakes I saw him make.

I thought by my boyfriend and I joining the group that he would gain a support system ( because he really feels as though he's the only one) and I could gain understanding as to what he goes through.

Welcome to the group, Dr. Rutland! My fiance is the fourth year medical student! I joined this board to get to know other medical spouses. Everyone here is really nice!

I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi! Welcome to the group! I look forward to getting to know you and your boyfriend. I'm sure that Chris will be thrilled to have someone to talk with down there in the Mr. MD forum! You'll have to get your boyfriend to visit and post his intro down there for Chris....He's getting a bit antsy

I hope that by joining us, you might discover that marriage and medicine can work! It isn't always easy, but I don't regret it. This group of people has really helped me through the hard times. My husband just finished 7.5 years of training and we have finally started our "real" job! We had three children during residency.....we made some choices as he was deciding on which job to take...and we chose a family-friendly hospital-based program. His working hours are not that bad at all...absolutely nothing compared to residency or fellowship.

I am looking forward to getting to know you better!

(and get that guy down to Mr. MD )

      Kris
